Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the department of Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions for the School of Health Related Professions. The Temporary Research Assistant works with the research and development staff on a project that aims to develop a manual to assist young people with psychiatric conditions to successfully launch their careers.
Supports web-based trainings and technical assistance to mental health providers, college staff, and other professionals using Canvas and Moodle.
Conducts various research tasks, such as literature reviews and data entry.
Share research findings with young adults with psychiatric conditions and with others in a user friendly access manner.
Provides administrative support to research and development staff to support manual refinements.
Helps develop web-based methods of communicating(e.g., websites, virtual meetings) and a presence on social media sites (e.g., Facebook).
Creates or edits research briefs that summarize research findings.
Creates professional writings, graphics, and/or web design.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, with recent experience in transitioning from high school to college or employment.
Completed at least 2 years of college-level coursework or have at least 2 years of post-high-school work experience.
Be a self-identified current or former user of mental-health services who has personal experience with and knowledge of recovery.
Have good communication skills and be willing to work as a team.
Have experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, etc.)
Have experience with graphics and layout.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Be able to accomplish tasks independently and with attention to detail.
Have the ability and willingness to learn about research related to psychiatric conditions and education and employment services.
Have an interest in improving the educational and/or employment opportunities for young adults.
