Hoxworth Blood Center has an opportunity in the Donor Services department for an energetic, goal oriented person to ensure that the staffing requirements are always met. The Staffing Scheduler must be an excellent communicator, possess critical thinking skills and enjoy problem solving. This position requires strong organizational and prioritization skills as well as the ability to balance several priorities from multiple sources; must be flexible and able to adapt to multiple demands in a rapidly changing environment. The selected candidate will create and distribute staff schedules based on scheduling standards in accordance with bargaining unit agreements. The selected candidate will be responsible for assigning, reassigning and replacing personnel due to absenteeism, illness and fluctuations in workload across all operations. The Staffing Scheduler is expected to apply high volume staffing experience and judgment to operate independently and quickly learn the operation.
The ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent problem solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure while maintaining accuracy and strong attention to detail. Must be able to deal with rapidly changing priorities and demands.
Minimum Qualifications: High school/GED diploma and 6 months of related experience.
May work in an "on-call" rotation in order to meet staffing needs for the department.
