Recruit students to participate in GEAR UP and manage the application and consent processes Assist counselors with regular duties and responsibilities Coordinate campus visits Meet weekly with school counselors and other relevant college access partners Manage and report data on student participation on a weekly basis and write annual reports Assist with collection and management data for the entire GEAR UP Buffalo project Coordinate outreach to parents and develop content for the parent presentations Coordinate with college campuses to organize GEAR UP sponsored college visits Assist with planning the summer program Knowledge of the high school and college choice processes, admissions, and registration procedures, and familiarity with Financial Aid processes Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic data management and reporting Ability to communicate in both orally and in written form to a variety of audiences Familiarity with the role of school counselors and/or the high school context Ability to work well in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with faculty, students, and staff
Bachelor’s degree with 2 years relevant work experience or a Masters student in higher education administration, school counseling, educational leadership and policy, social work, or a related area.
