The Department of Economics seeks to fill one tenure track teaching position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Our primary interest is in experienced candidates with a demonstrated record of scholarly achievement; however, we may also consider new PhDs.
We seek a macro-economist with preferred areas of research interest in growth, public, labor, demographics, or money/banking/mechanism design. Strong applicants will demonstrate complementary with existing VCU economics faculty and the greater Richmond area research community.
Applicants must have an established research agenda and should be committed to scholarly research and teaching of the highest quality. The candidate must have demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
At the associate level the faculty member will be required to have a well developed scholarly/research portfolio with evidence of multi-disciplinary applications and external funding appropriate to complement and expand existing expertise in the department(s).
Candidate must have an earned doctorate in Economics by August 2018, must be eligible for employment in the United States and indicate their citizenship or visa status. Preferred qualifications: Good communication skills, a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and research, and a capacity to work collaboratively with colleagues are desired.
