Posting Summary: The Center for Survey Research is looking for a self-motivated manager for its survey operations activities to oversee and manage end-to-end survey production operations, to help develop and implement technical solutions that support the successful execution of projects, and to provide support for project teams. The successful candidate must be able to thrive by working with teams in a fast-paced environment that has often-shifting priorities and pressures. There are many opportunities for innovation and problem solving as CSR works to adjust to changes in the academic survey industry, such as with panels, non-probability sampling, new technology, data visualization, data security, and specialized purpose surveys. In addition, there are many opportunities to work across departments in the Weldon Cooper Center, across the University, and to pursue professional development.

Required Minimum Level of Experience: Some - up to 4 years
Required Specific Experience: - Successful prior experience in managing web, phone, mail and multi-mode survey research projects in an academic setting. - Progressive experience in survey research and managing survey operations in an academic setting.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, adapting to competing priorities and deadlines, in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 1) Knowledge of UVA hiring policies, applicable state and federal laws and policies, and regulations relevant to foreign nationals. 2) Ability to develop and manage client relationships, including communication about project deliverables. 3) Demonstrated ability to interpret complex study designs and apply them in practice. 4) Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and to supervise, train, hire, and dismiss workers.
Required Computer Applications: 1) Advanced understanding of Excel, Access, and Word. 2) Proficiency in statistical analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, R, etc. 3) Experience with programming for survey research projects, using advanced features in Qualtrics or similar Web survey platforms. 4) Successful prior experience assisting with Web, phone, mail and/or multi-mode survey research projects.
