As Chief Academic Officer, the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor provides exemplary leadership, strategic direction, and a bold vision for the academic mission at the University of Tennessee Knoxville. An innovative mind-set and collaborative style are vital for advancing academic success. Reporting to the Chancellor, the Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor is responsible for oversight of all academic divisions, colleges, departments and programs and the services that support them. The new Provost will work collaboratively with other UTK vice-chancellors and system-wide administration, lead the execution of VOL Vision 2020 strategic plan, and foster innovative solutions to complex higher education challenges.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Promotes excellence while advancing the University of Tennessee's academic enterprise;
Drives outcomes that improve diversity and inclusion;
Coordinates and manages the budget for the Office of the Provost and the budget for academic programs;
Creates opportunities and incentives for- and reduces barriers to- obtaining new sources of revenue that align with the strategic direction of the academic enterprise of the University;
Leads academic programs and applies a data driven approach to continuous quality improvement
Ensures compliance with academic and accreditation standards;
Oversees enrollment management, student success and student access programs through a student-centric lens;
Leads faculty evaluation processes, including tenure and promotion and enhanced post-tenure performance reviews;
Provides support to increase the philanthropic giving for academic initiatives;
Works collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
