This position requires a vast knowledge of various systems, engineering concepts involving information security, IT software and hardware, internal data communications systems and network infrastructure. You will also be tasked with providing technical guidance and leadership to engineering team members and will be the technical point of contact to provide design, migration and deployment guidance. Primary Responsibilities:Leverage Cisco routing and switching technologies to solve enterprise and local networks requirements using EIGRP, TCP / IP, VLANs, ASAs, MPLS, VoIP, OSPF and BGP Work with IT operations teams in troubleshooting customer issues and resolution Install and configure software systems that support the network infrastructure such as network monitoring systems, log monitors, DNS servers, firewall / DMZ designs, and IDS / IPS systems Network capacity planning, disaster recovery, proactive monitoring practices / tools, and performance analysis Write functional requirements / specifications documents Create Low and High Level design documents in accordance with customer standards Assist in the development of infrastructure and services standards documentation and configuration guidelines Research and evaluate new tools that enhance operation of the network Remain current with the advances in network, network security, network monitoring, and problem determination technologies as well as troubleshooting techniques Upgrade network hardware and software components as required Serves as a leader / mentor Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to interface with all levels of Management
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology related field OR High School Diploma plus 10 years of equivalent experience 6+ years of experience with WAN / LAN, routing, switching, firewall environments 5+ years of experience with Data Center infrastructure with Cisco switches including Nexus 7K, 5K, 2K and 1K and UCS, FC and iSCSI 5+ years of experience with network security technologies including Firewall, network access control, intrusion detection, intrusion prevention systems CCNPPreferred Qualifications:Previous experience in enterprise class healthcare organizations CCIE Experience with layer 2 & layer 3 firewalls with Cisco ASA, VSG Experience with network provider services, QoS and HA implementation principles Candidate must be strong in OSPF, EIGRP and BGP theory and application Experience and knowledge implementing and troubleshooting VRF and VRF - lite Experience with Cisco Unified Communication Systems Demonstrated knowledge with Layer 2 Technologies and well versed in IP, TCP / UDP, SPT, HTTP, and SSL / TLS conceptsCareers with Optum.
