This position is primarily concerned with business process modeling. It will interact with business analysts and SMEs to help establish descriptions of current state business processes analyze weaknesses and strengths in the processes and work with the business team to define future state processes. The candidate must be able to apply good modeling principles and practices, be a good facilitator and be able to work in various levels of abstraction.Primary Responsibilities: Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements for Data Center Facilities engagements and projects Requires involvement in solving problems for data centers, server rooms or other IT spaces that support IT equipment Installing IT Equipment, Power and Low Voltage Cabling for Data Center Facilities engagements and projects Perform smart hands activities (IT equipment configuration, changes to IT equipment, visual inspection, troubleshooting, console access, etc) for Data Center Facilities customers Ensure that all ITSM policies are followed for all projects that occur in Optum data centers and IT spaces Enforce Data Center Facilities processes and procedures with customers and your own efforts Managing the decommissioning processes for the MN051 DCF Lab including enforcement of Optum Media policies for destruction of media Schedule and manage cleanings of the MN051 DCF Lab Manage and monitor the MN051 DCF lab for electrical and cooling capacity and best practices Data center asset provisioning that will require use of DCIM applications to complete your work Responsible for the MN051 DCF lab to support customers and manage the computing space for Data Center Facilities Produce with data center drawings, connectivity maps and other supporting documents related to projects which occur in Optum data centers, server rooms and other IT spaces Work directly with vendors and other teams for Data Center Facilities projects which occur in Optum data centers and IT spaces There are various Data Center Facilities applications and tools (DCIM, Nlyte, PowerIQ, BCMS, Fluke Networks) for support, use, configuration and management. The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert on the DCIM applications. Participate in scheduled DR exercises when required by the business and management Candidate will coach, provide feedback and guide others through Data Center Facilities initiatives Travel as required locally to the various Optum Data Center Facilities to support the Lab and other DCF supported data centers Maintain awareness of current technology assets, and the applicability and capability of each Must be able to work after hours and weekends if needed for customer support
Required Qualifications: Undergraduate or equivalent experience 2 or more years of relevant experience working in Data Centers and Server Rooms 2 or more years of relevant experience installing low voltage cabling in Data Centers and Server Rooms 2 or more years of relevant experience with installation of IT equipment in a data center/server room space 2 or more years of IT equipment lifecycle experience including data center provisioning (Space/power/cabling) of IT equipment with Data Center Infrastructure Management applications (Nlyte)Preferred Qualifications: Understanding of TIA/EIA specifications and BICSI best practices Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) Experience with change/incident/problem management with ServiceNow Experience with calculating IT equipment electrical loadsCombine two of the fastest-growing fields on the planet with a culture of performance, collaboration and opportunity and this is what you get.
