Gannon University, a Catholic university, invites applications for the position of Director of Alumni Services. The University is seeking an organized and energetic professional committed to helping maintain and grow the strong connection that exists between the University and our 37,000 alumni. This position plays a key role in building meaningful relationships with the alumni while enhancing the University’s visibility, reputation and stature. This includes improving communication with the alumni body via the Alumni Online Community, digital and social media, electronic messaging such as mass emails and electronic newsletters, and providing input and proofing of alumni content in Gannon publications. The Director will work closely with volunteers, including the National Alumni Board and alumni activities at designated regional areas that have a large concentration of alumni. In addition, the Director serves as liaison between the University Advancement Office and various offices on campus. The Director is also responsible for creating, coordinating, and implementing on-campus events, including Homecoming/Reunion Weekend. Must be able to support and promote the University’s Mission.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Must have three years of progressively responsible experience in alumni relations, event management, marketing, or communications functions. Computer, digital and social media literacy, as well as a valid driver’s license, are required. Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; be exceptionally detail oriented; have creative writing ability and demonstrated ability to communicate well with a wide variety of people. Experience working with volunteers and planning special events is preferred. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes some evenings and weekends, as well as in-state and out-of-state travel.
