Serves as the System Manger for the College of Public Health (CPH), helps develop, maintain, and coordinate day to day operations of the CPH information systems office; develops consistent technology solutions for networking and information management needs; oversees server hardware and software, recommending purchases; creates technical documentation covering the use of CPH technology services; assists in creating strategic technology plans; works with other service providers to coordinate technical services, including technology enhanced learning; serves as the primary support for CPH computer labs, faculty, and staff; serves as Exchange liaison with the central email system to adjust/add distribution, department and other email based solution; develops and administers the CPH Active Directory, administers user and computer account creation and maintenance; assists with the website maintenance and serves as backup webmaster; assists Director with ensuring compliance with the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) policies; other duties as assigned; on call 24/7 for critical services.
Bachelor’s degree in computer & information science or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of common server hardware most importantly, SCSI controllers, RAID arrays, Windows Hyper-V – 2012R2 and newer, mostly on Core Server 2016 DataCenter; strong skill set with Remote WMI, DOS, and Powershell; knowledge of VMWare ESXi Windows Domain Administration including understanding of AD architecture and all DC roles including backup and maintenance; understanding of all the support services and how they work in AD including DNS, DHCP, LDAP, and SMB; expert level in group policy, Windows Certificate Authority (PKI, SSL, and Kerberos); knowledge of bulk AD operations/WSUSSystem Center Configuration Manager; understanding of the various system roles and what each server does; knowledge of Automatic Update Rules and the WSUS role, Windows imaging process from Sysprep to Deployment, Task Sequences and WinPE; familiarity with PXE, UEFI, and Intel AMT, Package creation, building custom installersFile Servers; knowledge of DFS, Folder Replication, Shadow Copy and how they all interact; understanding of iSCSI, iSNS, CHAP, disk targets, and disk LUNs; expertise in Synology DSM and Windows Storage Server including Bitlocker Administration; understanding of Microsoft SQL, how MSQL operates and how it's permissions work; knowledge of SQL commands; ability to perform maintenance such as patching, performance tuning, and DB backup/restoration; Remote Desktop Services including licensing, User Group Access Management, Gateway, Web Access, Session/Virtualization Hosts, SSH / SFTP.
