The Health Education Specialist (HES) collaborates with content experts to develop, review, and publish multimedia educational resources (e.g., text, video, live sessions) for patients and their caregivers. The HES also leads and participates in projects related to patient and caregiver education.

Review existing educational resources, including facilitate the review process for multimedia educational resources intended for patients and their caregivers per departmental guidelines. Collaborate with content experts, other departments and vendors to ensure the content reflects the latest evidence and MSK policies related to the topic while applying principles of health education and learning theory in editing the resource, assuring compliance with the departmental style guide.
Develop and write new educational resources including collaborate with content experts to create new multimedia educational resources for patients and their caregivers. Apply the principles of health education and learning theory in editing the resource, assuring it is aligned with the departmental style guide.
Publish and deliver educational resources, including the publication of assigned educational resources directly onto the MSK website.
Collaborate with Web Specialist and Senior HES to develop and maintain working knowledge of web platform.
Provide project leadership and support by participating in projects as directed by the director and/or manager. Collaborate with colleagues to identify and employ methods to gather metrics to evaluate project effectiveness and analyze results.
Provide coverage by facilitating clinicians led virtual groups as indicated.
Bachelor's degree in communications, health education, or related field; Master's degree is preferred.
2+ years experience in a similar role preferred
Excellent English grammar and editing skills, preferably with experience editing and writing educational materials for lay audiences.
Proficiency in MS Office, experience with HTML and/or Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Familiarity with principles of health literacy.
