Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Professionally represents the Career Development Center and Appalachian State University to internal and external constituencies and serves as liaison with various offices on campus and students and the general public.
Administrative support to Director, Associate Director, Assistant Directors, Counselors and Coordinators
Serve as receptionist/customer service support and manage front reception office for a professional staff of 13 and 4 graduate assistants
Hire, train, schedule and supervise 5-7 student employees
Coordinate counseling student traffic
Monitor and reconcile departmental or program budget and track travel and office expenditures
Assist in coordination of details for all career events
Assist the Office of Student Employment as needed in peak seasons
Coordinate First Destination Survey data collection
Manage work order process
Prepare travel authorizations and reimbursements requests and maintain office supplies
Bachelor’s degree preferred
Familiarity with basic computer functions such as word, excel, internet, email
Outstanding information gathering, writing, and editing skills preferred
Knowledge of University systems including Banner and Appalnet preferred
