Standardized Patient participates in the simulation-based training and evaluation activities within the Standardized Patient (SP) Program at Virginia Tech Carilion School Of Medicine (VTCSOM). This position is also responsible for assisting in all areas of administrative support including academic activities, recruiting, and deploying standardized patients under the direction of multiple individuals in the department.
- Experience such as providing administration support in an educational, applied sciences, instructional technology, or healthcare environment. - Direct progressive experience as in health care, standardized patient setting or education. - Experience in the use of software such as MS Office and database software. - Basic computer skills. - Strong interpersonal, customer service and communication skills. - Must be able to maintain a professional attitude and demeanor at all times and provide flexible and responsible solutions to difficult situations. - Ability to build and maintain rapport and collaborate effectively with standardized patients, administration, staff, and peers. - Ability to work independently with limited supervision as well as part of a team and maintain confidentiality as needed. - Ability to occasionally flex schedule to meet needs of department which may include working some nights and weekend hours.
- Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. - Experience such as project management and presentation development.
