This is the place to do your life's best work.(sm) The Associate Director of Pharmacy Pricing Strategy drives business performance using quantitative data analytics and methodologies, enhancing the development of future retail pharmacy network pricing strategies. Primary Responsibilities:Optimize the financial performance of retail pharmacy transactions in order to best meet objectives of OptumRx and our pharmacy business partners Generate analytic insights that improve OptumRx business products and/or solutions and resolve underperformance issues Lead efforts to envision new pricing arrangements with retail pharmacies that would drive greater value for our network pharmacy partners and OptumRx customers Develop new business intelligence related to financial performance of pharmacy network transactions, utilizing best-in-class data visualization and statistical toolsets (ex. Tableau, SAS, SQL) Lead partnering efforts across functional business areas to improve processes and drive efficiencies Work directly with internal business partners and pharmacies to implement, monitor, and communicate strategies to maximize the accuracy and completeness of OptumRx pharmacy pricing methods Demonstrate deep understanding of financial estimates and program performance pertaining to retail pharmacy network arrangements Interpret statistical analysis, analytic modeling, and data visualization reports Develop and present information regarding performance of pharmacy networks Advise internal partners in understanding utilization, membership, and other influencing factors to network pharmacy performance and controllable determinants of adherence to pharmacy guarantees Engage with internal partners to explain financial analysis, reconcile models, and/or participate in development of pharmacy - side pricing assumptions on retail pharmacy transactions within pharmacy benefit designs Promote best practice standards (e.g., pricing, methodology, tools, technologies, etc.) to applicable stakeholders Work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet business timelines Direct others to resolve business problems that affect multiple functional areas
Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or other relevant field Professional experience Experience in financial services, pricing functions, analytics functions Demonstrated ability to work well and collaboratively, with multiple teams or departments for business growth or profitability goals Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to speak clearly and concisely, conveying complex or technical information in a manner that others can understand, as well as ability to understand and interpret complex information Understanding of Data visualization and analytics tools (ex. - Tableau, SAS, SQL, Microsoft Excel) Understanding of Financial modeling analyticsPreferred Qualifications:Advanced degree in relevant field of study (ex. accounting, mathematics, statistics, computer science, finance, economics) Healthcare business experience Financial performance analytics experience People management experienceCareers with Optum.
