We are currently seeking a talented and creative person to join our Member Services team as a Vehicle Product Data Specialist.
Responsible for the accumulation, categorizing, filing and archiving of vehicle technical data. Respond to requests for information and data from members and Association staff.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITY
1. Respond to SEMA members and Association staff requests for vehicle product data and information. Maintain and compile records of requests for information. 2. Maintain databases of all vehicle product data provided by the OEMs and interact with SEMA’s OEM staff to facilitate data transfer. 3. As updates of vehicle product data are received from the OEMs, notify and update members that have accessed previous iterations of the data. 4. Ensure that all data provided by the OEMs is secured, controlled and accessed only by those authorized to do so. 5. Periodically inform and update members and Association staff of the vehicle product data available. 6. Develop and maintain regular reports of interest to members and Association management based on data provided by the OEMs and its usage by members. 7. Help establish member and non-member usage rates and fees for vehicle technical data provided to SEMA by the OEMs. 8. Assist in the development and implementation of a marketing program to promote vehicle product data resources to SEMA members. 9. Member interface with the marketing of the prototyping service: advertising, member contact, pricing quotations and production solutions. 10. Interact with OEM’s staff members whom are responsible for the Tech Transfer Program to promote growth, problem solving, compliance of OEM data restrictions. 11. Assisting with the OEM’s Measuring Session. 12. When directed by management, perform other assignments and duties as required. RELATIONSHIPS 1. Reports to Senior Director, OEM Relations 2. Interfaces with all levels of staff. 3. Interfaces with Association members.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
1. Thorough knowledge of automotive components and their functions.
2. Knowledge of different vehicle lines, trims, model year changes 3. Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organizational skills. 4. Good working knowledge of CAD and related software applications. 5. Ability to perform CAD conversion between different formats. 6. Doctoring CAD Data for better use by cleaning up or modifying files 7. Knowledge of solid and surface modeling techniques. 8. Strong understanding of engineer design process. 9. Computer literate with understanding of computer systems including, but not limited to the following software packages: Microsoft Word, Power Point, Microsoft Excel. 10. Ability to perform on-line data searches. 11. Ability to interact with all members and Association staff in a professional and cooperative manner. 12. One year of direct related experience, or completed education related to performing similar job duties with the stated necessary skills or proficiencies.
