Job Title: Sr. Manager, Pricing Reports To: SVP Commercial Position Location: Vernon Hills, IL FLSA Status (Exempt/Non-Exempt): Exempt
Position Summary: This position is the primary lead on pricing strategy, tactics, base and promotional pricing. This position is directly responsible for the development, delivery and execution of corporate standards, policies and best practices around pricing that are aligned to Company strategies. The role will work closely with Product Management, Marketing and Regional Sales teams to provide predictive analysis and recommendations to objectively guide and influence price strategy globally.
Key Responsibilities: •Leads the formulation, training and compliance around Cole-Parmer Industry Pricing Strategy with supporting sub strategies around Product and Marketing strategy leading to transactional process, tactics and delivery of price realization. •Leads the integration of internal and external data to drive better understanding on decisions at the business level such as financial, brand strategy and commodities vs niche/propriety products. •Leads analysis around all aspects of pricing such as estimating volume impacts due to changes in price, promotions, competitive response etc. •Lead Cole-Parmer in a global pricing strategy. The pricing manager will understand international pricing policy, regional nuances, and regional requirements as well as how to structure those policies in a global framework (i.e. global policy with regional nuances). •Understands and applies modeling tactics. Excellent at visual display of quantitative information to ultimately drive clarity and context to all stakeholders. •Exploring the data, mining the data and looking for insights to drive business decisions. •Present results and findings in PowerPoint and other effective means of communication to directly influence business decisions. •An integral part of the integration team, ensuring price realization and profit maximization with acquired companies. •Team player and cross-functional lead on departmental projects and initiatives. Proactively develop processes, tools and other means to continuously influence decisions. Understands and applies price elasticities, pricing power and promotional lift factors effectively. •Considered a thought leader and expert in pricing to the assigned brands and brand teams cross functionally. •Project Management lead for Pricing infrastructure projects, with an emphasis on those impacting compliance, regulations and training. •Develop implementation strategy, tactics, tracking mechanisms (to capture realized price), project documentation and training. •Develop notification strategy for internal and external customers and employees, utilizing a variety of channels to increase efficiency. •Manage cross-functional Natural Work Groups (internal task forces). •Ensure legal compliance and maintain full understanding of regulations. •Serve as liaison between business and technology teams, specifically Ad-hoc integration, end market, product portfolio, sales and marketing teams, including IT for implementation. •Act as Pricing subject matter expert. •Develop communication plans regarding compliance and regulatory updates to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management. •Develop ongoing implementation process for solutions to complex problems, requiring the consistent use of decision making skills, as well as appropriate innovation. •Metrics driven – develop and maintain a process scorecard. •Innovate to simplify, redesign and automate processes when possible. •Promote and practice a risk-aware culture, ensuring efficient and effective risk control. •Practice effective compliance management by adhering to required standards and processes •Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree in Quantitative Analysis Economics, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics or related field from an accredited higher learning institution. Master’s degree preferred. •7 or more years of experience in pricing strategy, data analytics, or consumer insights; including proven leadership experience. •Microsoft Office expertise, especially in Excel. SAS, SPSSX, QLickView expertise a plus. •Analytical and organized with relentless attention to detail. •Strong intellectual curiosity and affinity for numbers. •Ability to understand data, identify risks, develop recommendations and implement solutions. •Ability to understand the organization's strategy and apply to product pricing strategies. •Strong curiosity towards the evolving market and pricing trends. •Knowledge of pricing and market access. •Knowledge and understanding of financial planning process. •Familiarity with databases. •Ability to consistently provide clear and concise written and verbal communication; excellent presentation skills both orally and through PowerPoint presentations. •Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; problem-solving skills. •Thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, efficiently works under pressures, within deadlines or other time essential constraints. •Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to clearly and concisely communicate to all levels of the organization. •Strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization.
