Position Summary: This position ends one year from date of hire with the possibility of extension.
The Office of Program Planning and Evaluation (OPPE) provides analytical expertise, leadership and support in coordinating divisionwide program planning, reporting, accountability, and advocacy efforts for the Associate Vice President (AVP) and Vice President (VP) of the Division of Agriculture and Natural resources (ANR).
As chief executive officer, the VP provides administrative leadership for UC's programs in Agriculture and Natural Resources and provides overall direction to ANR as the land-grant arm of the University. The AVP provides leadership for the Division and is responsible for the conduct of all ANR programs, statewide leadership of UC county-based Cooperative Extension (UCCE) programs, Research and Extension Centers (RECs), ANR Statewide Programs, and Strategic Initiatives. The AVP is responsible for a direct budget up to $10 million, along with oversight of other ANR budgets that report directly to the AVP totaling an additional $25 million.
Reporting to the director of PPE, this position is accountable for providing high-level expertise in developing, coordinating, and administering programs that fall under the purview of the AVP and VP specifically by carrying out ad hoc projects that arise from the UC President's Office, government partners, state agencies, industry, and UC academics, among others.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing and carrying out strategic planning efforts for programs as instructed by ANR's leadership; facilitate high level meetings comprised of internal and external stakeholders; develop and implement rigorous evaluations of ANR's statewide programs; and conduct research and writing of the highest quality as instructed by ANR's leaders.
The specific portfolio of this analyst will vary depending on organizational needs, but, the incumbent will be responsible for complete development, oversight, coordination, implementation, analysis and reporting of all assignments given.
The incumbent uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of analytical practices, policies and procedures; researches, analyzes, interprets and develops solutions and implementation plans on a wide range of issues. This position demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and has a full understanding of governmental relations and practices, university priorities, policies and procedures, in addition to research program administration and evaluation experience in an academic setting. It is essential that this position develops comprehensive action plans while meeting tight deadlines.

Must possess valid California Driver's License to drive a County or University vehicle. Ability and means to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required.
