Witt/Kieffer has been retained to conduct the search for the next Chief Executive Officer of Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA) in Othello, Washington.
Columbia Basin Health Association (CBHA) is a well regarded, innovative Federally Qualified Health Center located in Othello, Washington, a beautiful agricultural community in the Columbia Basin of Eastern Washington State. With a 45 year history, CBHA provides health, social, and advocacy services for all regardless of income, insurance status, immigration status, language, or culture and offers medical, dental, pharmacy, eye care, behavioral health, and family services for all ages. The organization has 350+ employees and 40 providers. Columbia Basin Health Association provides care annually to approximately 35,000 patients/users with over 175,000 patient visits.
CBHA is recognized nationally with a culture and reputation for its best practices, patient-centered care as well as its accountability and transparency as an organization. Their quality of care, provider productivity, and positive financial results are definitely “best practices”. The organization implemented EMR throughout its clinics and is well known for its use of technology to improve the efficiency and quality of care for residents living in rural communities. CBHA has been an active participant in the Community Health Centers Best Practices Forum and regularly uses the Studer Group to enhance their operations.
The Chief Executive Officer will be responsible for the overall operation of the organization, the creation and/or application of policies, financial accountability, providing support to the Board of Directors, and providing liaison between the Board and Association staff. The CEO will succeed Greg Brandenburg who is retiring after providing outstanding leadership for the past 20 years.
The ideal candidate will have executive level management experience in a community clinic, hospital, medical group, managed care, or other healthcare or not-for-profit organization. Risk/value-based contracting experience is desired. Senior level management experience from the private business sector will also be considered. The ideal candidate will also be a visionary, charismatic leader with a strong mission orientation combined with a business, growth, “get it done” orientation. Solid financial and operations skills are critical as is the ability to anticipate the future, diversify revenue sources, and position CBHA for the on-going changes in healthcare. The individual must be able to build long term relationships, both internally and externally with a wide range of local, regional, state, and national partners.
