Christian Horizons was founded in 1962 inspired by one man’s dream of creating a place where his loved ones could age with dignity in a Christian atmosphere. He and people from nearby churches raised funds to purchase property in Lincoln, Illinois, where they built and opened the first Christian Nursing Home, with 48 beds, in 1962.
Today, over 50 years later, Christian Horizons, has become one of the nation’s largest, faith-based, not-for-profit senior living providers—with 13 communities across four states.
Risen Son Christian Village is an independent living and continuing care retirement community (CCRC) serving seniors of every age and allowing them to age in place. Located on forty acres in beautiful Council Bluffs, Iowa Risen Son provides high-quality, faith-based, senior living. The community consists of a 102-bed skilled nursing facility, 35-bed residential care facility, 25 assisted living units and 90 independent living units including 50 garden homes. These care options encourage the highest possible level of independence in a scenic setting that’s convenient to transportation and shopping.

Responsible for leading the entire team in long term strategic plans as well as successful daily operations of the Risen Son community.
Accountable for the outcome of the Healthcare Administrator and the Healthcare Center.
Continually strive to provide innovative, visionary services to residents and the broader community.
Drive the results in resident and associate satisfaction, census and revenue growth, expense controls and implementation of new services.
Provide engaging leadership to the interdisciplinary team.
Represent the organization in the community with peers, professional organizations and state associations as well as acute care hospitals, physician networks, insurance and managed care providers.
Maintain safety and risk management programs and oversee Christian Horizons’ policies and procedures in the community.
Works with the Healthcare Administrator and Human Resources to ensure regulatory compliance, quality assurance programs and staff retention.
Assists in directing the complaint/concern process and ensures appropriate resolution.
