Responsibilities: Responsibilities include teaching four courses per academic year, including the Health Science senior capstone course. The successful candidate will develop course(s) in the area of Public Health, within the candidate's area of expertise. Tenure track faculty are expected to develop and maintain an active research agenda for future tenure consideration and are evaluated on their excellence in research/scholarly activity, teaching, and service.
The Department of Health Sciences and Kinesiology is seeking a candidate whose research focuses in the area of Public Health. Specific areas may include, but not limited to, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Health Disparities, Health Economics and/or Global Health. Applicants should possess the following:
1) A PhD in Public Health, or closely related area. 2) An excellent scholarship record appropriate to time since PhD. 3) Proven record, or potential, in obtaining extramural funding. 4) A record of/or demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching is required, along with a commitment to undergraduate personalized education, including engaging undergraduate students in the research process. 5) The ability to effectively communicate research to a broad interdisciplinary audience. 6) Commitment to advancing the research mission of Chapman University through pursuit of external funding and/or interdisciplinary collaborations.
