Under the supervision of the MotherToBaby California Research Manager and the co-investigator at the University of Massachusetts, the psychometrist will be responsible for observing children; performing standard testing evaluation and recording neuro-developmental data for a large longitudinal pregnancy outcome research project. You will contact eligible subjects referred for testing, consent, and schedule testing and travel at sites throughout the United States and Canada. The psychometrist will administer, score, code, and manage the data for all standardized tests involved in the infant, preschool and school age, as well as testing for parents, according to established protocols, procedures and documentation rules. The position will work with other study psychometrists and staff to manage the day-to-day running of the neurobehavioral testing such as scheduling appointments, locating lost subjects, tracking incentives and ensure that follow-up meets critical calendar times to align with research protocols. You will perform all functions of respective data management including scoring, data entry and data validation, and maintaining subject records.
Theoretical knowledge of biology, human development, psychology, teratology or other science/health related field at a level typically acquired at a Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in administering and scoring standardized psychometric testing, such as Mullen, WPPSI-IV, WISC-IV and WASI.
Ability to independently identify abnormal and borderline testing result, both in questionnaire format and face to face testing.
Excellent interpersonal communication with adults and children of various ages and various levels of education/backgrounds; professional, respectful and tactful communication with subjects by telephone and in person; ability to communicate effectively and clearly in writing.
Ability to efficiently organize, prioritize, understand and meet deadlines for testing, data entry and general assignments.
Experience working with various databases, including web databases, Excel, Access, or other databases.
Demonstrated ability to conduct literature searches and extract information relevant to project activities.
Ability to develop and/or make recommendations for protocols improvements.
Fluent in Spanish both in oral and written communication.
Master's Degree in related field.
Criminal background check.
Must have a valid California driver's license, current insurance and access to reliable transportation.
Requires travel within the United States and Canada for subject testing 25% time.
A flexible work schedule with evening and weekend hours required for contacting and testing subjects.
