Provide support to both front and heart of the house in a variety of tasks primarily related to the preparation, service support, and sanitation functions in a private club environment.
Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
Provide friendly and efficient service and assistance to all guests.
Clean, sanitize, and organize dish area, pot sink and all floors. Feed and unload dish machine. Store clean dishes, pots and pans in designated areas, sort silverware, and store all equipment properly.
Install and maintain soap and paper towel dispensers. Clean and maintain hand sinks.
Keep offices, stairwells, and all related storage spaces in the building clean, free of debris, dusted, and organized. Communicate when parstock items are misplaced, broken or running low.
Under supervision, assist in providing basic culinary support for catered functions or a la carte service.
Assure proper temperature of food.
Perform finish production such as sandwich preparation, grilling, slicing, assembling, and preparing foods for service.
Remove trash from all areas and dispose of in proper containers. Recycle appropriate items. Remove dirty linen from trays, carts, or breakdown areas and dispose of properly.
Clean, sanitize and maintain restrooms. Vacuum and maintain the cleanliness of all common areas of the facility. Change light bulbs; ensure proper placement and timeliness of subscription publications.
Set up rooms for functions and move related furniture as needed.
Assist as needed with basic, routine maintenance of furniture and equipment.
Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment with regard to appropriate use of cleaning supplies, correct operating temperatures and overall operation of machines.
Assist in loading and unloading trolley carts from deliveries and in storing food and equipment as needed.
Restock food, linen, sundries, and equipment as requested.
Observe departmental standards for safety and sanitation.
Practice teamwork and treat all co-workers with respect in all activities and tasks.
Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance always wearing proper uniform.
Perform any other duties that may be required or requested to meet business volume demands.
High School or GED preferred
Experience working in a kitchen or related field a plus.
Possesses basic math aptitude relating to portion control, restocking and counting.
Ability to operate assigned equipment correctly and safely.
Ability to handle complex duties, anticipate needs and juggle multiple tasks where priorities have been pre-established.
Ability to understand and follow instruction.
Ability to complete tasks quickly, thoroughly, independently and safely.
Demonstrates high manual dexterity (quickness, accuracy and safety).
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to work in tight spaces in hot, humid and/or cold temperatures.
Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 pounds.
Positive and friendly guest relations skills.
This position is scheduled to work 40 hours per week for 41 weeks per year.
