This is a challenging role that creates an opportunity to grow and develop while doing your life's best work.(sm) The Source Data Manager is responsible for processing Carrier data from Health Plans and Payers as well as a host of verification sources. This position is responsible for transforming client requirements into processing rules, in the form of application logic and SQL stored procedure code. This involves integrating multiple, disparate data sources and customizing the application specifically for each client solution. In addition, Source Managers process Carrier data that feeds into the Provider DB database. Data that populates the Optum ProviderDB Database is also subjected to format validation/standardization, processes and integrity checks. Source Managers also process Consumer Code Manager sources for the CCM product line. Additionally, the Provider Data Operations team is migrating to the Big Platform where skills such as UNIX and Teradata skills will be learned. Primary Responsibilities:Implement business requirements for clients and business constituentsAnalyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns and opportunities for the business and clientsCommunicate analysis and interpretation to appropriate audienceProduce, publish and distribute scheduled and ad-hoc client and operational reports relating to the development and performance of products, processes and technologiesPerform additional duties as assigned, including but not limited to research and documentation
Required Qualifications:1+ years of experience in healthcare technology and/or data managementStrong analysis experience with a solid understanding of data storage structuresExperience implementing requirements from the client / businessIntermediate level of proficiency with PC based software programs and automated database management systems (Excel, Access, PowerPoint)Experience in analysis of business process and workflow and providing an evaluation, benchmark and/or process improvement recommendations1+ years of experience with project methodology (requirements, design, development, test and implementation)Ability to communicate analysis including trends and opportunities to clients and the business in writing and verballyAbility to problem solve including multiple priorities and research conflicting and/o inaccurate data Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Health Administration, related field or equivalent work experienceIntermediate level of proficiency with SQL management and writing SQL code Careers with Optum.
