The UCSD Mother Child & Adolescent HIV Program provides comprehensive and integrated HIV care, social services and clinical research to women, infants, children and youth ages 13-24. A multidisciplinary team of HIV specialists provides medical care, treatment, health education, nutrition education, mental health counseling, case management and peer support. As a clinical research site for NIH funded clinical studies, the program offers innovative, state of the science clinical interventions and observational studies for women, pregnant women, children and youth.
Under direction of the Program Director, incumbent will develop and manage the social service programs of the UCSD Mother-Child-Adolescent HIV Program. Responsibilities include the organization and implementation of comprehensive clinical social work services, case management, mental health services and psychosocial support activities. Incumbent will provide training and supervision of clinical social workers, case managers, client advocates and social work interns, conduct staff development, program evaluation, and continuous quality management activities. The incumbent will maintain an active caseload, provide clinical social work interventions and ensure compliance with regulatory statues, county and federal contract requirements.
Responsibilities include the identification of social service grants and submission of proposals in collaboration with Program Director and Program Coordinator, management of grants, evaluation of outcomes, development and submission of program reports.
A Master's degree from an accredited school of social work, possession of a clinical social worker license issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners, and three years of post-master's experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledges and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position.
Minimum of three years' experience in managing and providing supervision in a social service program.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills and experience in managing and providing supervision in a social service program. Strong ability to establish and maintain professional standards, efficient consultation and supervision skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of evidence based social service interventions, especially those related to HIV/AIDS, mental health, high risk youth and families, child abuse, domestic violence and chemical dependency. Extensive knowledge of social, emotional, behavioral, economic implications of chronic disease, death and loss
Demonstrated experience in program evaluation, measuring program outcomes and leading initiatives to improve service delivery.
Strong demonstrated experience in clinical supervision of social work and related social service staff in delivery of case management, crisis intervention, mental health treatment and psychosocial services.
Excellent social work assessment and planning skills, with strong counseling, crisis intervention and education skills. Demonstrated expertise in formulating, implementing, and adjusting psychosocial treatment based on a sound integration of theory and practice.
Extensive knowledge of community social service resources, benefits, eligibility through Medi-Cal, AIDS Waiver, CCS.
Demonstrated experience in grant writing. Ability to identify appropriate grants, develop and write effective social service grant proposals.
Bilingual, fluent in English and Spanish.
Current California Driver's License.
