Title Position Reports To: Director of Advancement Services JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Advancement Services the Associate Director of Advancement Services provide necessary information about major prospects and donors and assists with the implementation of a prospect management system. In addition the Associate Director responds to requests for data and other information housed in the Raiser’s Edge CRM from a multitude of sources including but not limited to the President’s Office University Advancement External Relations and the University’s Colleges and Units. RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES: Conduct targeted and/or in-depth research on principal and major gift prospects and donors to support the President Vice President for University Advancement and the Advancement Major Gifts team. Conduct asset-based research on these individuals and entities. Identify new prospects within the constituent base of alumni parents and friends capable of making gifts of at least $25 000 to the University. Using print and electronic sources seek and provide information on prospects and donors outside of the traditional constituent base that are relevant to the President’s Office University Advancement and External Relations offices. Research family and other foundations as well as corporations to which alumni parents and friends are affiliated. Identify and propose qualification engagement and cultivation strategies for researched prospects based on information gleaned from research. Maintain confidential data and information with the Raiser’s Edge CRM and compile such information in appropriate forms for the easy dissemination of reports to the President’s Office University Advancement External Relations and other University personnel. Fulfill data requests for the President’s Office University Advancement and External Relations as well as University Colleges and Units by querying and exporting information from Raiser’s Edge CRM as well as producing reports as requested. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Strong written and verbal communication skills. Excellent computer skills including proficiency in on-line database research. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Access. Excellent project and time management skills. Knowledge of ethics statements by APRA and Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree required. A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in prospect research is required.
