The Department of Psychology in the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati is accepting applications for a Grant Administrator 2 position. The person in this position assists faculty members in preparing grant and contract proposals, budgets, and budget justifications. They verify regulatory approvals/assurances, compliance prior to establishing awards and implement/interpret policies, regulations for allowable costs and cost sharing. In addition, they Interpret, apply/disseminate complex sponsor regulations and institutional policies; serve as liaison between department and other UC units and funding agencies to resolve complex problems; prepare and submit reports (pre- and post-award); purchasing equipment/asset allocation for grant deliverables; and assist faculty and staff with researching, locating, developing, writing, and administering federal, state, and private grants, contracts, and external funding sources.
Under minimal supervision, report to the Department Head and work closely with designated Principal Investigators (PIs) in monitoring and administering federal and/or state grant funds, private foundation grants, and subcontracts.
Prepare grant applications, coordinating required institutional reviews and approvals, and working with PIs to ensure timely submission of funding proposals.
Provide recommendations and expert advice to researchers regarding proposal preparation and award administration.
Interpret, apply/disseminate complex sponsor regulations and institutional policies.
Prepare and process grant financial transactions according to established policies and procedures.
Prepare, process, review, and approve department grant-related travel and expense reimbursement requests.
Utilize university financial systems and financial reports to monitor monthly grant expenses and ensure compliance with sponsor/donor regulations.
Work with PIs to properly allocate salary costs to grants consistent with research effort as new grants are awarded and throughout the grant as staff activities change.
Collaborate with appropriate central administration offices to represent the needs of the research faculty (such as Human Resources, Payroll, Finance, Purchasing, Sponsored Research Services).
Process student payments and scholarship allocation.
Perform related duties based on department need.
Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years experience; -OR- Associate’s degree with four (4) years experience; -OR- six (6) years experience. Degree must be in a related field with experience in accounting and/or grant and contract administration or related area.
