The Nursing Informaticist (NI) leverages nursing experience with critical care thinking, science and technology and acts as a catalyst for change and adoption of technologies that improve the patient, family, and clinician's experience. The NI assists individuals and groups to define healthcare information problems and identify methodologies for implementing, utilizing, and modifying informatics solution and data structures that support healthcare access, delivery, and evaluation. The goal of the NI is to improve the health of patients by implementing and optimizing information management and communication systems. The NI will work within the Patient Care Services Department and will report directly to the Executive Director while working collaboratively with the Chief Medical Information Officer.REQUIRED- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing. - Bachelor's degree in Healthcare IT or related area and/or equivalent combination of experience/training. - Current CA licensure as RN.- Experience working in a Magnet facility.- Three to five years of acute care hospital experience. - Previous participation and/or leadership in a hospital committee. - Basic project management skills. - Prior experience with IT systems and systems development projects. - Current experience in Nursing Informatics. - Certification in EPIC Applications. PREFERRED - Certified in Nursing Information or applicant must complete within 3 years of hire.
