North Hennepin Community College, one of the largest and most diverse two-year colleges in Minnesota, is accepting applications for Adjunct Computer Information Systems Faculty.
The Computer Information Systems Program combines essential business and management knowledge with extensive technology skills that are applicable to every industry and a broad range of jobs. Skills learned can be immediately applied at work, school, or home. The program includes the A.S. and A.A.S. degrees in Business Computer Systems & Management and certificates in Business Communications and Technology Essentials, E-Commerce Essentials, Project Management Essentials, Microsoft Office certificates and Written Communication Techniques. Our program articulates to various 4-year colleges for those students wishing to continue their education and is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).
Primary teaching responsibilities include theory and concepts in instruction in our program consisting of such courses as E-Commerce, Project Management Software Tools, Web Tools, The Whole Internet, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Revision and development of instructional materials as well as assessment of student outcomes is assumed.
Participation in discipline, division, and college matters through service on committees and attendance at regular meetings as well as continued professional development.
Flexible to teach day and evening sections on campus and online.
Dedication to excellence in teaching and have the desire to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community.
Will practice contemporary teaching strategies, including learner outcome assessments and online instruction.
Ability to work with a diverse population of student learners is expected.
Availability to teach classes on campus. Hours include daytime, evenings, and online.
Continue the professionalism of an active scholar, participate in departmental and campus-wide matters to enhance their disciplines, promote interdisciplinary discourse and collaboration, and advance the college mission.

Bachelor degree in business, management, business education or marketing.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Two full-time (or equivalent) years of verified related paid work experience business office applications and operations.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for this credential field.
Master's degree in business, management, business education, marketing, or computer related field.
Current theory instruction and experience in adult education.
Experience teaching or training in computer applications.
Experience in online teaching or demonstrated willingness to learn and develop online courses.
Experience with learner outcomes assessment and evaluation.
Demonstrated ability to educate adult learners, students of color, students with disabilities, and international students.
Expert knowledge in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint).
Flexibility to teach daytime and evening sections as well as online.
Exceptional team player who is willing to devote time to students and the department.
Working knowledge of alternative instructional techniques and delivery methods such as online education, education platforms (D2L BrightSpace), digital technology, etc.
Salary: Under the collective bargaining agreement with the Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF), new faculty to the system receive a salary placement based on education and related experience.
