The Junior Database Administrator (Jr. DBA) coordinates, supports and plans for the day-to-day operations of moderately sized databases and related applications ensuring the reliability, stability, and integrity of the database management systems. This position performs junior level activities in database administration under the guidance of the DBA Team Supervisor in support of IT leadership in fulfilling the strategies and goals of the institution.

Conditions of Employment

Ability to lift 15 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Ability to be mobile, campus wide for appropriate business needs.

Associate of Science or Associate of Applied Science in a computer science related field or equivalent experience
One year of specific information technology experience in database administration with MySQL or PostgreSQL
Experience with automating tasks using scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency, universal accessibility and/or diversity.
Experience with database development and SQL
Experience in using a well-structured life cycle management process for implementation of changes in applications
Knowledge and experience working in a higher education and/or financial environment with areas dealing with information systems management and support systems
