About the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering:
The department has academic programs at the BS, MS, and PhD levels in electrical and computer engineering. Currently the program has over 320 undergraduates, 150 master's students, and 75 PhD students, taught and mentored by 22 tenure/tenure track faculty. The ECE department is located in a new, well-equipped research building. Primary areas of research conducted by faculty and students include: (1) DSP & Communications, (2) Power & Energy (3) Information Assurance, (4) Computer Design & Networks, (5) Micro & Opto-electronics, and (6) Controls & Laser Communication. The Department of Electrical and Computer at Binghamton University (one of the four SUNY University Centers) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant professor for fall 2018.
The position is focused on analog or digital VLSI design with an emphasis on emerging technologies and applications, including neuromorphic computing, nano computing, quantum computing, biomedical applications, ultra-low-power and energy harvesting sensor design, bio-interface design, security and trust in integrated circuits, reconfigurable hardware architectures, and modular embedded computer architectures.
The successful applicant will be expected to develop an externally funded research program and have a commitment to excellence in teaching at the BS, MS, and PhD levels.
Qualifications include an earned PhD in electrical or computer engineering or closely related field, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to teaching and research. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness is preferred.
