The Department of Psychology at Binghamton University (SUNY) is seeking exceptional candidates for an Assistant Professor position (tenure-track) in clinical psychology to begin Fall 2018. We are especially interested in (i) individuals whose research focuses on substance abuse, particularly someone taking an affective neuroscience perspective and/or conducting research that may cut across multiple substance use disorders and their associated clinical comorbidities, including other forms of externalizing psychopathology, across the life-span; (ii) individuals who may bring new research programs to the department such as gender or minority issues in mental health (e.g., mechanisms influencing gender differences in psychopathology or diversity issues in access to, perceptions of, or delivery of mental health care); and/or (iii) individuals who complement existing research strengths in addictions, anxiety disorders, autistic spectrum disorders, depression, personality disorders, neuropsychology, romantic relationships, schizophrenia, trauma and dissociation.
The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent research program capable of attracting external funding and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching. The Psychology Department consists of 36 faculty in three graduate programs: Clinical Science, Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences, and Behavioral Neuroscience.
