The Human Resources Specialist is a collaborative and knowledgeable HR professional that plans, organizes, participates and actively manages human resources management programs, including employee relations, compensation analysis and design, performance management, and FMLA/ADA administration. This position will provide professional service to a diverse workforce and cultivate an inclusive, respectful work environment.
Bachelor’s degree with a major in human resources management, I/O psychology, public or
business administration or a closely related field.
Eight years of progressively responsible human resource management experience, including employee relations, at least three of which were in a supervisory or program management capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Demonstrated experience in exercising tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential personnel issues and employee situations.
Strong functional knowledge in the areas of employee relations, performance management, employment law/compliance, FMLA/ADA, compensation analysis and design.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully in a diverse and inclusive environment.
Strong skills in the area of conflict resolution, problem solving techniques, interviewing and investigating.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Excel, and word.
