Minimum Qualifications: NYS licensed/registered LPN. Prior experience in an outpatient setting (speciality area) strongly preferred. Current CPR certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required. 2+ years supervisory experience in the medical field preferred. Proficient with EMR and experience in Orthopedics preferred.
Job Standard / Operational Needs: 1. Ability to coordinate time off requests and delegate appropriate nursing and exam room coverage for each section with little oversight.2. Capable of addressing initial employee performance concerns with workload backlogs, attendance, productivity issues and other problems in the absence of the Patient Care Supervisor.3. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills, communicates well with administration, physicians, staff, support staff and patients.4. Listens objectively to staff issues and responds in an effective manner that is most beneficial to each situation, keeping Patient Care Supervisor informed as needed.5. Works at a multi-task level with an ability to delegate assignments when necessary to section floats. 6. Recognizes when job assignments need to be reinforced to maintain work flow. 7. Capable of coordinating special projects for the section and acts as lead point of contact.8. Possesses working knowledge of EMR (Epic). Efficiently utilizes EPIC for appt scheduling, template building, etc. Ability to trouble-shoot minor problems for team.9. Ability to handle disgruntled customers when needed. 10. Uses professional and effective phone skills. 11. Capable of assisting Patient Care Supervisor with face to face performance evaluations for individuals within the section.12. Assist Supervisor and provides input into annual and semi-annual performance evaluations for up to 40 staff on a timely basis meeting deadlines.13. Willingly provides support to the other individuals in section as needed to prevent backlog and maintain even work-load volumes.14. Regularly attends the monthly supervisor's meeting and facilitates Patient Care meetings creating an agenda and keeping minutes on a monthly basis. 15. Communicates agenda items & announcements to sectional employees on a timely basis.16. Efficiently orients and trains new personnel in telephone and computer access, protocols and introduction to the various personnel and policies.
