The Berkeley Advanced Media Institute (BAMI) is looking to expand business services to include podcast/audio services. The Podcast Business Manager will manage business relations with external clients and internal stakeholders, be responsible for client project scope and budget, overseeing P&L, developing and implementing strategic marketing and communications plans, and researches new business opportunities to grow the business. This position is a new position, integral to expanding our digital media services.
Responsibilities include: •Provide front-line customer service to potential clients including initial meeting with clients, developing client contracts, and managing client project scope, budget, client deadlines, and scheduling interviews and provide client status reports. •Develops and implements marketing and communication strategies designed to inform target market of fee based audio/podcasting recording services. Including creating and updating website, attending tradeshows, social media, and print collateral and other as appropriate. •Develop and maintain business documentation for projects and reports to key stakeholders both internally and externally. •Hires and manages work products of vendors and/or contractors for reporting and editing on client podcast projects. •Develop and manage business program budget in addition to client’s budgets, forward invoice data. Monitor and manage P&L. •Provides research on new audio/podcast business opportunities to inform stakeholders.Knowledge/Skills: •Thorough knowledge of basic concepts, principles, and procedures of building and maintaining effective relations with internal and external constituencies. •Thorough knowledge of the campus, its mission, goals, objectives, programs, achievements, infrastructure and issues of concern. •Highly developed written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. •Demonstrated tact and political acumen to effectively represent the campus. •Strong research, analytical and critical thinking skills, including sound judgment and decision-making skills. •Ability to identify real and potential problems, advising management as required, and proposing effective strategic resolutions. •Skill in project management, including event planning and meeting deadlines. •Experience with Adobe Audition or other relevant audio editing software. •Experience managing client facing services business. Education/Training: •Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. This is a 50% time (20 hours per week) 1 year contract position with continued employment contingent on funding availability.
