OSU-Cascades invites applications for a full-time 1.0 FTE, 9-month, Instructor rank position as OSU-Cascades Librarian. Reappointment is at the discretion of the OSU-Cascades Dean of Academic Affairs.
Ideally, the successful candidate will be available for appointment effective in December of 2017.
The person who fills this position will be assigned to work at Oregon State University-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon.
Position duties include teaching, maintaining currency, and service to the university and profession. In alignment with the OSU Libraries Instruction Program, the OSU-Cascades Instruction Librarian develops and delivers library programs and services to the OSU-Cascades community and degree programs, teaches information literacy concepts and skills, and builds liaison relationships with OSU-Cascades faculty. The position does not have scholarly outcome requirements, but it is expected that the individual maintains currency in their area of expertise. Service activities include participation in activities on the OSU-Cascades Campus, liaising with the Corvallis Valley Library and professional societies.
About OSU-Cascades: Oregon State University's branch campus in Bend, Ore., features outstanding faculty in degree programs that reflect Central Oregon's vibrant economy and abundant natural resources. Nearly 20 undergraduate majors, 30 minors and options, and four graduate programs include computer science, energy systems engineering, kinesiology, hospitality management, and tourism and outdoor leadership. OSU-Cascades Learning Commons and Library services are a hub of academic activity. Academic and research materials are accessed electronically and through inter-library loan. There is a small print collection. OSU-Cascades students, faculty, and staff have access to all electronic resources provided by OSU Libraries.
