Reporting to the Associate Director of Facilities Finance, the Data Analyst runs reports on a periodic basis, performs data analytics on financial data, and data mines large sets of financial data. Prepares timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports for Facilities. Protects operations by keeping financial information confidential. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant Federal, State, and University policies and procedures. The successful applicant will have excellent organizational and time management skills, demonstrate a high level of independent judgement, and have impeccable ethical standards. They must be able to flourish in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Business Information Technology, Finance, or related field, or equivalent training and/or experience. - Experience in procurement and business principles with the ability to research, perform complex financial calculations, analyze accounts, and create financial reports. - Experience such as extracting data from enterprise financial systems and manipulating in offline environments, which would include creating formulas and linking spreadsheet within Excel. - Experience such as mining data and preparing reports from that data utilizing various reporting and analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, SCOOP, and/or AIM IQ. - Experience in reconciling large data sets. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite within Windows operating system environments. - Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- MBA or Master's Degree, or equivalent fiscal management experience. - CPA, or other professional license. - Experience with Banner HR, Banner Finance, HokieServ, & HokieMart systems. - SQL programming experience. - Advanced Excel skills including pivot table development and advanced lookup functions.
