Samuel Kwon Lab at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate mechanisms of cortical plasticity. Our lab aims to understand how neuronal circuits and synapses in the mouse somatosensory system respond to changes in sensory experience and learning. We employ a highly integrative approach by combining cutting-edge optical tools, electrophysiology, anatomical tracing and mouse behavior.
Experience with in vivo imaging and/or rodent behavior is desired but not necessary. Experience with brain slice physiology, signaling cascades or emerging genetic/biochemical tools will also be a good fit. We offer a competitive benefits package and the unique opportunity to participate in developing a new research program.
The fellow will have an access to state-of-the-art equipment, and will be joining a strong and growing neuroscience community at the University of Michigan-An Arbor. Competitive candidates will be considered for Michigan Life Sciences Fellows program, which offers $60,000 salary + $25,000 toward independent research (See http://fellows.lsi.umich.edu/home).
Samuel Kwon Lab will open in Jan. 2018.
Interested individuals should submit a cover letter describing research interests, a CV, and names of three references to firstname.lastname@example.org
