The Development Department is seeking a Donor Relations Specialist.
As a Donor Relations Specialist, you will:
Coordinate the $5K and above and VIP donor acknowledgment process using current IRS guidelines.
Draft, edit, and systematize all acknowledgments on behalf of gift officers and various MSK executives.
Work with manager to generate acknowledgment letter templates to ensure they are fresh, accurate and on message.
Pull and organize daily electronic files to ensure the correct acknowledgment template is being used and ensure the approved acknowledgment letters are uploaded and scanned into the appropriate donor records.
Establish and maintain accurate records and metrics for acknowledgments and serve as resource to Development staff for all acknowledgment related questions and information.
Coordinate, along with the Donor Relations Coordinator, fulfillment of benefits not handled through outsourcing with our vendors, including the welcome kit, annual report, calendar, magazine, etc.
Coordinate other stewardship activities, including sending pledge reminders on schedule, setting up appeal code and designation language.
Represent the Gift Administration unit on project teams dedicated to the resolution of problematic gift processing or account management issues, the implementation of new processes and procedures, the testing of new releases of the fundraising database software, the testing and analysis of new auxiliary tools, and the analysis of the business rules informing the work of the unit.

A High School diploma and at least two years of work experience.
Associates degree is preferred.
Experience in a high volume, non-profit service environment is strongly preferred.
Excellent communication skills, including proofreading and business writing.
Great attention to detail and the ability to respond to complex inquiries and independently research solutions.
Must be comfortable communicating with Development staff, other MSK employees, and vendors on complex matters related to donor services and stewardship.
