POSITION TITLE: Individual Giving Associate
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
The Individual Giving Associate is responsible for growing the pipeline of individual donors and service volunteers in order to better facilitate EMPath’s goal of broadening our base of philanthropic support. This individual will provide strategic design, implementation, and management of a comprehensive program to build relationships needed to secure operating and programmatic support from individual donors, volunteers and other entities. Collaborating with the Institutional Advancement team, the Individual Giving Associate will apply mission-focused strategies to grow philanthropic support through established and innovative methods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF THE JOB:
Manage the annual individual giving component of the Institutional Advancement Office including the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of annual gifts from donors giving between $1 and $4,999. This includes managing direct mail campaigns, donor cultivation events, and other tasks to support the IG revenue stream.
Moves Management: Establish and track a set of metric-based strategies to increase the number of new individual donors and increase the dollar amount of existing donors contribute.
Together with the Institutional Advancement team, create mission-based, donor-centric appeals and recognition strategies distributed through a variety of channels including personal contacts, direct mail, social media and other correspondence.
Work with the VP of IA to develop a pipeline of major gift prospects and donors through identification, research, and cultivation.
Develop and implement strategies to convert event attendees into individual donors.
Manage individual giving budget, ensuring costs are kept within budgeted resources.
Data Base Management:
Maintain the integrity of all records, including donors, prospects, volunteers, and other friends of the organization.
Enter data into Raisers Edge in timely and accurate manner.
Run reports and queries for IA, Administration, and Leadership.
Prepare acknowledgement letters in a timely manner.
Provide technical support to IA department.
Serve as staff liaison to EMPath’s affinity groups
Coordinates EMPath’s annual holiday toy drive
Organize in-kind, mission-based need drives (for example, diaper drives, back-to-school drives, etc.)
Cultivate, solicit and steward volunteer groups (corporate and individuals) to ensure meaningful , skills-based and impactful service experiences
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience marketing to donor audiences preferred.
Fluency and current proficiency using Raisers Edge database.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and time management skills.
Strong management and leadership skills, with a proven track record of effectively balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders
Knowledge of Word, Excel, Adobe, and InDesign applications.
Ability to think creatively and strategically.
Ability to prioritize work to ensure completion of multiple assignments and adherence to deadlines.
Commitment to EMPath’s mission and programs.
Bachelor's degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
A minimum of two years of experience with a fundraising, marketing, or communications team
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Requires some bending, stooping and stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Work is performed in an office environment.
