1.Teaching Faculty member is expected to provide high quality instruction in electrical and computer engineering graduate and undergraduate courses and to develop new courses as necessary based department needs and the background of the candidate. 2.Research Demonstrated record of high quality research and scholarship. Candidates should demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills and the potential to initiate interdisciplinary research and educational synergies among diverse areas. All specializations will be considered, with particular interest in cyber physical systems or RF Micro-/Nano-electronics. Junior faculty will be required to have an established research agenda and a clear potential for external funding, and potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the department and the School of Engineering. 3.Service The candidate will be expected to provide high quality service to the department, school, university and professional community.
-Must possess a PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a closely related discipline. - The candidates should also have an outstanding record of achievement and impactful research in academia, industry and/or at national laboratories and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills. -Must have a strong record or commitment to teaching excellence at undergraduate and graduate levels, to providing service to the university and profession, and to broadening the intellectual diversity of the ECE department, to include a potential for an outstanding career in teaching. -The School of Engineering at VCU supports a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment. The candidate will demonstrate experience that shows their commitment to fostering such an environment. -Expected to develop and maintain funded, nationally recognized research programs and should attain a substantial, established record of publication, external funding, and potential for scholarship or creative expression to complement and expand existing expertise in the department(s). -Individuals who demonstrate the desire to actively participate in creating and nurturing a highly collaborative, creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial culture and the ability to initiate interdisciplinary research across diverse academic divisions at VCU will be given top priority.
