Perform teaching at the highest standards at the undergraduate, professional and graduate levels. Establish and maintain an extramurally funded, world-class research program with outstanding scholarly work in areas related to Pharmaceutics. Engage in and provide the highest standard of service at the department, school, and university level, as well as to the discipline at the national and international level.
Perform duties of a tenure-track faculty member in Pharmaceutics (12 month appointment), as outlined below:
1.Teaching Significant effort is expected to be devoted to teaching at the undergraduate, professional and graduate programs where faculty in Pharmaceutics are involved, including the PharmD curriculum and graduate program in Pharmaceutics and others.
2.Research Significant effort is also expected so as to establish and sustain a nationally and internationally recognized research program in areas related to Pharmaceutics by securing extramural funding and demonstrating an exceptional record of scholarship.
3.Service Effort in terms of service to the department, school and university and to the discipline is also expected.
The successful candidate will have a Doctoral degree (PhD/PharmD/MD) in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related discipline
The qualified candidates will also have demonstrated experience or show commitment to work in and foster a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment as a faculty member at VCU.
Those candidates whose research interests expand and complement existing expertise in the department, including nanomedicine and materials science as it applies to the design and formulation of novel drug delivery systems, pharmacokinetics, and drug disposition and transport, are strongly encouraged to apply.
