Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Student Financial Aid Counselor for the Office of Enrollment Services. The Student Financial Aid Counselor, under the direction of the Financial Aid Supervisor, provides administrative services for the processing of financial aid and counseling services to all students enrolled in academic programs at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS).
Formulates financial aid award packages using established federal, state and/or university policies.
Determines and approves financial aid eligibility using latest online technology and is responsible for complete accounts of financial aid records.
Counsels students, parents and outside groups in financial aid program eligibility, online applications and loan processing.
Conducts individual and group federally mandated entrance and exit interview programs.
Prepares and presents debt management and budgetary workshops to all students.
Prepares financial aid correspondence in all venues; resolves issues related to letter generation.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
One (1) year of professional experience in student financial aid.
Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience with networked mainframe and PC systems.
Computer knowledge using latest online technology; knowledge of ImageNow and Microsoft Access.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift 10 to 15 pounds.
