Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to administer and manage all departmental program budgets and reconciliations for over 25+ funds, with particular attention to ever-increasing agency-funded external award monies. Financial duties for state, revenue, foundation, and agency-awarded monies include posting, balancing, fund transfers, processing all payments and expected expenditures and the ability to make projections based on past trends and anticipated needs.
Major responsibilities include but are not limited to:
All departmental financial affairs
Execution of all aspects of budget management from daily transaction processing to complex financial reports and database creation
Advise all other department directors on budgeting issues and therefore, also has all budget responsibilities for all departments
This position has sole and complete accounting, budgeting, purchasing, reconciliation, and reporting of financial data, etc. responsibility for various and often multiple concurrent, agency-awarded grant projects that must adhere to all department, University, State and Federal regulations
With the rising level of externally-funded budgets, this position must work closely with Special Funds Accounting, Academic Affairs and the Controller's Travel Office to correctly implement and manage all projects appropriately and effectively
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two to four years progressively financial management experience
Knowledge of Banner, Microsoft Suite, and other software programs preferred
Strong knowledge of University policies and procedures
