Applicants must possess a M.S. in a discipline related to Fermentation Sciences (e.g. Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, Beverage Science, Engineering, Horticulture, Crop Science) and demonstrated research or professional experience in a laboratory environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful applicant will manage the analytical service laboratory at ASU. The laboratory manager will conduct most of the analyses, document results, and communicate with industry members. Strong analytical and communicational skills are required, as well as the ability to organize and prioritize duties effectively. The successful candidate will also assist in teaching laboratories in brewing, wine production, distillation, and fermented foods; teaching assignments will vary based on programmatic needs and professional background of the instructor.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in research and/or teaching in the area of brewing science / brewing operations and technology. Academic or professional experience related to fermented dairy, meats, and vegetable products will also be preferentially considered.
