Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department ofPsychiatry is accepting applications for the Mental Health Clinician II,Green Hills, TN. In this role, youwill perform diagnostic assessment and therapeutic treatments under occasionalguidance. You will also maintain contact with family and community agencies andmakes referrals. Additionally, perform supervisory functions for staff/studentsand routinely offers support/coverage for departmental needs. Additional Information: This is a 10-month position -August â May; Monday thru Friday; 8am â 5pm
Thisposition will be employed by Vanderbilt University Medical Center and willprovide therapeutic counseling services in a community reentry program for maleresidents who have been recently incarcerated.
In thisunique role, you will provide direct therapeutic services includingpsychosocial assessments, treatment planning and both individual and grouptherapy.
Evidence-basedapproaches will be implemented to promote optimal outcomes for residents andsupport the goal of successful independent living.
Clinicalsupervision and oversight will be provided by a licensed professional (Ph.D orLCSW)
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Conduct psychosocialassessments and other relevant assessments as indicated to determine mentalhealth and substance abuse issues/needs.
2.Develop treatment plansbased on individual needs.
3. Complete documentation as indicated bystandards.
4.Conduct direct therapeuticservices for residents which may include individual and group therapy as wellas psychoeducation.
5.Make referrals foradditional community services as needed. This may include consultation with primarycare, community psychiatry and community recovery support groups.
6.Establish a team-focused andcollaborative working relationship with program staff in a communityfaith-based program.
Â·Licensed Clinical Social Worker or LicensedProfessional Counselor-MHSP.
Â·Able to support the mission of a faith-basedprogram.
Â·Experience with screening for commonmental health and/or substance use disorders.
Â·Experience with assessment andtreatment planning.
Â·Working knowledge of differentialdiagnosis of common mental health and/or substance use disorders, as appropriate.
Â·Working knowledge of evidence-basedpsychosocial treatments for common mental health disorders, as appropriate.
