Candidates must be self-motivated with strong customer focus. They must be able to work independently, while also being an effective member of the mortgage team. The candidate should have good communication skills to conduct business in person, via the phone, and through email.
Include, but are not limited to providing loan services to all customers, while finding and developing new bank relationships. Our Residential Mortgage Banker should be able to determine customer’s desires, abilities, and earnings to establish a suitable loan program. This would include analyzing Business and Personal Financial statements to determine a customer’s qualifications for loan requests under Middletown Valley Bank’s risk parameters. Our focus on service excellence will extend to the ability to cross-sell other company products, where appropriate, and build lasting relationships with customers to promote the reputation and success of the bank.
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Degree is the minimum education requirement however previous experience in the field or a two-year associate degree in fields such as business administration or accounting is preferred
Excellent communication and proven/demonstrated sales skills
Ability to interpret policies and procedures, loan contracts, and understanding of credit reports and loan documents with strong analytical skills
A valid, current driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle or have personal transportation to make regular and repeated calls/visits to call upon customers.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity of residential lending computer systems.
Able to working in a team-oriented environment and can work well with team members.
Outstanding phone etiquette as well as customer service skills to handle different types of customers.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills are critical.
Must be analytical, detail oriented and organized.
Good at managing time and being self-directed
Comprehensive knowledge of the financial services industry, banking regulations and compliance requirements.
Adaptable in an ever-changing technological and regulatory environment.
