High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Minimum 90 days training of experience as Admissions Specialist-Trainee.
Medical terminology preferred.
OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Proficient with the Meditech system, showing ability to enter and retrieve data. Good keyboard skills. Ability to work effectively with patients, family members and staff. Strong detail and follow-up skills. Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to concentrate and focus on assigned tasks in the face of high volume with many interruptions. Ability to cross train for support of other positions with Registrations/PBX areas.
(May be met with aid of mechanical devices) Vision is sufficient to read computer terminal, insurance cards and physician orders. Hearing is sufficient to interact with patients who may be unable to speak at normal voice level. Mobility (including lifting, bending, stooping, reaching) and dexterity sufficient to assist patients and handle required equipment and supplies.
