Senior Network Engineer
The Senior Engineer is responsible for analysis, presentation, acquisition, installation, configuration, implementation, and modification of IT infrastructure solutions for major business and IT projects and requests. This role provides escalated, Tier 3 support of production infrastructure for business and infrastructure services, performs performance trend analysis for planning of infrastructure capacity and improvements, applies advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. This role frequently contributes to the development of new ideas and methods and works on complex problems/projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors and exercises independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine the best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. The Senior Engineer leads and/or provides expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives, provide mentoring and guidance to junior employees, acts as an expert providing direction and guidance for process improvements and establishing policies, and may be called upon to represent the organization for customers/clients of Franklin Templeton Technologies. Collaborates with other Engineers, Operations, Applications Development, Business customers and vendors to design and implement solutions The Senior Engineer researches, modifies existing, and deploys new solutions to meet changing business needs. This role applies a wide range of experience in their domain as a Technical Lead. Responsibilities include:
Lead the development and deployment of communication (voice/data/video) solutions; including integration testing.
Develop turn-over documentation for handing off to Operations teams.
Design, deploy, maintain, and improve wired, wireless, and cloud networks.
Manage the infrastructure in accordance with established operational practices.
Develop configuration management capabilities and documentation practices.
Develop and maintain configuration standards.
The ability to manage multiple high-priority, high-pressure projects
Act as point of escalation for network related support cases.
Implement fault-tolerance across all critical networked environments.
Integrate Franklin networks with Public Cloud providers (e.g., AWS/Azure) using transit VPC, IPSec and other Secure Cloud Interconnects.
Qualifications Ideal candidates will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, plus 8+ years of related experience
Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS/NxOS and other network operating systems
Requires Network technical area certifications, preferably CISCO.
Expert level experience with LAN/WAN architecture and implementation for large enterprise networks.
Extensive experience in creating and delivering detailed technical presentations to Senior/Executive level Management
Expert knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 advanced protocols
CCNP / CCIE certification
Experience with Riverbed Steelhead Wan Optimization appliances.
Extensive Experience with SIP and other Voice over IP technologies
Extensive knowledge of Software Defined Technologies
Experience working with A10 Load Balancers, Cisco products (Wireless, Routing Switching)
Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as MRTG, Cricket, Nagios, Grafana, Zabbix and SNMP protocol
Experience with shell scripting and automation tools
