Position Summary and Responsibilities
Vassar College seeks an experienced research analyst to provide support for the Engaged Pluralism Initiative and related faculty, student, and administrative work on diversity, inclusion, and belonging at Vassar College. The analyst would engage in research and data analysis for presentation to various subsets of the Vassar community and would partner with faculty and administrators to support quantitative and qualitative research on students' experiences of academic life and social wellness. The analyst would also provide research and data support for understanding and enhancing equity and inclusion for College employees.
This position is a limited term one year position, with possible extension. This position is full-time for the full year, and is eligible for Vassar benefits for administrators.
Qualifications At least a master's degree in quantitative sociology, statistics, or other field with an emphasis on quantitative research methods in the social sciences Experience conducting qualitative research is preferred Two to five years of work experience using a range of data management software, data analysis methods, and research methods. Experience in institutional research within higher education is not required but highly desirable A thorough knowledge of general research methodology, including quantitative and qualitative techniques, survey design, and expertise with data management and query tools Two to five years of experience with descriptive and analytical data analysis using Excel, SPSS, Access, SAS, R, Stata, or other data analysis programs. Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite Programs, survey data collection and analysis software, and data presentation tools Two to five years of work or applied experience in a position involving complex data analysis Excellent project management and data communication tools Experience presenting data analysis to a wide range of audiences in a concise and accessible manner Knowledge of using data visualization tools such as Tableau or similar systems Skills with Banner and Workday are preferred Ability to work independently, and with others, plan and organize multiple projects simultaneously, and set and meet deadlines
