The Interim Associate Director of Academic Civic Engagement nurtures the development of curricular civic engagement across the campus through courses, projects, and initiatives.
In additional aim is to create and strengthen campus and community relationships both locally and at a broader levels to support the development of faculty and student interests and passions leading to rich lives at and after Carleton as well as to promote an ethic of community and civic engagement across the Carleton campus.
The Interim Associate Director will also support Carleton faculty who are teaching applied and theoretical academic civic engagement courses, contribute to Carleton’s participation in civic engagement networks at the state and national level, and college and compile data for assessments and surveys that the College participates in including Campus Compact Survey.
This is a full-time, .92 FTE (based on start date), temporary, 11-month position.

The successful candidate possess a Master’s degree and has a proven, significant experience supporting civic engagement courses and implementing community-based learning projects. Preferred qualities include a PhD in a relevant field and teaching experience, especially at higher education levels is desirable.
